Every year...

Every year, I watch The Bachelor(ette). Every year, it's the same. Every year, it includes at least one beautiful lady and one beautiful man. Every year, it contains at least one person that I want to push out a window (often it's more than one person). Every year, I hold an ongoing dialogue with the TV (an inanimate object, mind you) about how stupid it is. Every year, I scream at the TV. Every year, at least once, I will turn off the TV mid-show and throw the remote across the room because it irritated me that much. Every year, no matter how much they swear that they're going to be different, the couple breaks up after a short period of time. And, yet... Every year, I return - like a moth to a flame (burned by the fire, Janet), like a dog to its vomit - to this frustrating, amazing, stupid, addictive show. Every year...

P.S. DeAnna's coming back???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!

It's BA-ACK!!!!!!!!

And now the love/hate relationship will continue... I just saw a preview the other night and it looks amazing/dreadful... I really hate this show. But I am strangely addicted. Remember me ranting on this a few months ago? No? Read this to jog your memory... The return of this show actually complicates my life a bit. Now there are FOUR shows I have to watch on Mondays: Gossip Girl & The Secret Life are both on at 8pm, One Tree Hill and Heroes are both on at 9pm. And what am I to do when The Bachelor returns?? Customarily, it is on Monday nights too! My universe is going to implode.

I have a secret...

I watch this show:

And I have a love/hate relationship with it. But I actually really hate it most of the time... I hate how they portray Christians, I hate the cheesy acting, I hate that this girl hasn't told her mom that she's pregnant yet, I hate that two of the teens have been in a relationship for two weeks and already say "I love you"... The worst part may be all of the advertisements on ABC Family that compare it to Juno -- blasphemy! But it's kind of like a car wreck, you can't help but slow down and watch... I would tell you to start watching it, but I don't think I want you to hate something so much yet not be able to resist it...

Save me.

Good Medicine

Read the entry entitled "Good Medicine" on this blog and guess who's going!!!!!!

A once in a lifetime experience... We will get to see these amazing actors up close and personal... Which actually means they'll be like 100 feet from where we're sitting, but it's fo sho* better than TV! I can't wait!

Hey, you should come too!

*Disclaimer: Yes, I did actually use the term "fo sho"... I have since joined a support group and am seeing a personal psychologist three times a week. I appreciate your support during this difficult and confusing time in my life.

Fulfillment

In my opinon, if you are not watching Gossip Girl, then you are missing the fulfillment your soul has always yearned for. Okay, maybe it contains the complete opposite things that Jesus fulfills or promotes (sex, drugs, scandal, oodles of money, snotty teens), but it is a glorious guilty pleasure. For one, it stars a Blake Lively, whom you may remember as the athletic blonde chick from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and she actually turns out to have pretty sweet acting chops. If that doesn't convince you, then maybe the fact that it is helmed by the creator of The OC will.
Seriously, it is a great show--it might even one day come to fill the void that Gilmore Girls left behind when it ended. 8PM on theCW (don't let that scare you). Please watch. Your heart will thank you. Ryan Seacrest says so.
